If you want to take a short drive, you can also experience world-class vineyards including Roots Wine Co., Soter Vineyard, Domaine Serene, Anne Amie….just to name a few.

Cleaning & sanitizing prior to your visit-
We are committed to thoroughly sanitizing all surfaces and washing linens, including sheets, bedspreads, pillow covers, etc. All pillows and mattresses are covered with additional Allerease protectors, and there is a Lasko fan and fresh air ionizer for your use in the cottage. We use Force of Nature, an EPA registered disinfectant & sanitizer registered for use in hospitals, ICUs, schools, daycares, veterinary clinics and more. It kills 99.9% of germs including Coronavirus, Influenza A, Salmonella, MRSA, Staph & Listeria when used as directed. We have augmented our regular cleaning programs to include even more rigorous disinfecting protocols.


Our little cottage was built in 1937, and has been recently remodeled from top to bottom. We have kept a lot of its character (and a few of its quirks) and taking a lesson from the Danish tradition, we've tried to fill the house with lots of "hygge", "a quality of coziness and comfort that brings out feelings of contentment and well-being". We have intended to equip our home to a high standard and to anticipate your needs by providing all the things you might want for cozy stay in wine country.  There is a comfortable queen bed in each room with private decks to enjoy the wines you've picked up from the day. The kitchen is stocked with local coffee, tea, and jam, and everything you should need for your stay; just grab a loaf of bread from the Carlton Bakery and you are good to go.

You will have the entire cottage and property to yourself, and your local host just a phone call away should you need anything.

The Cuvée Cottage is located 2 blocks from downtown Carlton in the heart of Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Carlton has transformed from a lumber town to the pinnacle of farming and wine in the Willamette Valley. This charming town has been named America's Best Small Wine towns, and supports this title hosting over 20+ tasting rooms all within walking distance of the cottage. If you want to take a short drive you can also experience world class vineyards including Roots, Domaine Serene, Anne Amie….just to name a few. In addition to tasting rooms downtown we also have some wonderful restaurants, the Carlton bakery, local gift shops (including an awesome soap and jam shop), a coffee shop, and a few other local business. We have a small convenience store in the center of town, but the closest grocery store if 5 miles away in McMinnville. 
The Cuvée Cottage is located across from Carlton Apartments which used to be the old Carlton Schoolhouse built in 1907. The green barn next to, know wine barrel storage for Ken Wright Cellars, was the gymnasium built in 1926. The school house was changed over to the Carlton apartments in 1966. Our neighborhood is made of mostly local residence that work in the community. We have very sweet neighbors all around us, Sally in the blue house behind us takes care of our yard, and knows everyone in the neighborhood. She also has a cute grey kitty named Pippin that you will see now and again walking around.

We don't have convenient public transportation in Yamhill county, but fortunately the cottage is so close to downtown that you can park your car and walk and bike to all the actiivties. And there are many outstanding vineyards less than five miles from the cottage.

We had a wonderful stay for five days at the Cartlon house! The home has everything you need to make meals at home, but if you don't feel like cooking, there are many great restaurants and wine tasting rooms just a short walk down the street. It was a great location to travel to all of the nearby wineries, and we loved that we could walk to restaurants after a day of wine tasting. The yard is huge, and I would love to come back in the summertime. There is tons of space, and we enjoyed using the record player while relaxing in the living room. I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to book a future stay when we are back in the area

We loved our stay here. The cottage is only two blocks from downtown Carlton, so we were able to walk there to pick up food and coffee. The town itself is right in the middle of wine country, with a number of tasting rooms right in the downtown area and tons of others within a short driving distance. We took advantage of the clawfoot tub almost every night - it is the perfect size for a hot bath on a cold night. Highly recommend!
