Massive living room, massive stone fireplace, massive posts and beams, massive windows, massive views, massive seating capacity, massive room to roam. 1 King 1 Queen 1 Full 1 set of bunkbeds 1 travel crib 1 futon Plenty of room for a party or family reunion. Magnificent forest retreat. 15 minutes to Brian Head! 3,200 square feet. Bring the whole family! This is a family owned and loved cabin. We enjoy spending time with our family here as often as we can. We take advantage of all that the lake and the cabin offer to help shake off the stress of BCL (big city life). We enjoy hunting, hiking, ATVing, you name it - it's all waiting for us out our front (and back) door. The main floor features giant posts and beams and an oversized stone fireplace. It definitely feels like a log cabin in the woods that you wouldn't mind getting stranded in - especially with someone you love. The double sized living room is nicely furnished with several big comfy couches, a Smart TV and soundbar and a full size table for meals or games. One big room with two distinct areas makes it ideal for evenings at home with the family. Especially because it is joined in the open by an extra large kitchen fully stocked with cooking utensils and vessels, limited spices, linens, cleaning supplies (plus dishwasher) and china service for 10. You are going to want to cook and bake forever when you get into this kitchen. It has a brand spanking new stove and ceramic cooktop. Gorgeous and so fun to use. Big big island in the center of the room - perfect for making cookies. On the other side of the island is a formal dining table with 6 chairs. This is a big kitchen. It is not crowded at all. The kitchen has a toaster, a drip coffee maker (we have filters), a griddle, every pot and/or pan you will need as well as cooking utensils including pizza cutter, wine opener, etc. One of the kitchen drawers is dedicated to BBQ utensils for the gas grill just off the kitchen (we have propane). Panguitch Lake, 8,209′ lies approximately 30 miles west of Bryce Canyon National Park smack in the middle of Dixie National Forest. "Big Fish" is the English name for Panguitch which comes from the Paiute (Native American) language. Our lake and waterways are famous for plenty of panguitch. Wildlife abounds in this, some of the most remote forest land in the continental United States. • Panguitch has gas stations, a grocery store and a liquor store (both closed on Sunday), a Family Dollar, restaurants (no bars). • It is strongly recommended that all of the groceries and provisions for your trip are picked up in Cedar City before you come up the mountain. Once you get here, you will be almost off-grid with the following exceptions. • Cabin has wi-fi and local phone service but no cell phone coverage. • Fire station (on way to cabin from Highway 143) has cell phone service, a Wi-Fi hot spot and a bench from which to enjoy both. Stop in and say Hi to Chief Dave Etter. Panguitch Lake is a strong strategical location from which to enjoy all of the following day trips: Bryce Canyon National Park - 1 hour Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument - 1.5 hours Zion National Park - 2.5 hours (***Itinerary tip: Hit this one on your way up. It's practically on the way.***)
