Grand View Lodge

Hatch, Utah

Grand View Lodge is conveniently located between Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park. It is bright and spacious with three levels of gathering areas and bedrooms. The main level showcases spectacular views with vaulted ceilings and windows. The fireplace and wood floors add to the wonderful feel. The master bedroom, wrap-around porch and kitchen are also on this level. Exceptional craftsmanship is evident in the cabinets and woodwork. The upper level gathering place is perfect for watching a movie together. The two bedroom reading nooks are great if you would rather grab some alone time with one of the books from the case. Feel free to take the book if you don't finish and leave one of yours if you think it would be a great read for someone else. The lower level offers a pool table, a music room with a piano, movie room with a 60" TV and a large gathering place for a board game, a puzzle, or a cozy visit by the wood burning stove. Spend a few minutes looking at the pictures of the winning racehorses. You may see us when we were much younger. There have been family reunions, retreats, a group of bicyclists, and even a whole cross country team spend more than a few nights at the lodge. The 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and hide-a-bed upstairs makes sleeping 14 people quite comfortable. There are two additional futons if your party is even bigger. You won't have to feel like it is wall-to-wall sleeping, because the gathering places and the large dining room table can accommodate the group. Yes, Grand View Lodge earned its name by having pristine views of the meandering Sevier River, green meadows, and pink hues of the limestone cliffs. But there is also another reason. Did you know that the lodge faces most of the seventy miles of single track called "Grand View Trail"? This trail weaves through and over the ridges and canyons to the east. Our family has ran, hiked, and biked this for years. In fact our family has lived in the area for generations. If you look northeast from the lodge window, you will see "Wilson Peak" which is named after my great great grandfather. This home was built to be enjoyed during any season by all that enter. We hope you feel like family as you spend your precious vacation time here. Now, you may ask, "What else is there to do besides the main events of Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, and Grand Canyon National Park that are relatively close to Grand View Lodge?" The answer is: Have a picnic or morning coffee on the river deck. Go fishing. The river runs through the property, so with a Utah State fishing license you can cast a fly or soak a worm. Panguitch Lake and Tropic Reservoir are within an hour drive and are great fishing locations as well. Take a scenic drive. On the way to Bryce Canyon National Park, stop and spend some time at Red Canyon State Park. The Hoodoos and rock formations are amazing. Cedar Breaks National Monument is just a few miles off the road on the way to Cedar City, Utah. It has a Grand View Too! Straddle a horse or ATV. There are a number of wranglers or ATV rental companies in the area that are wonderful. Let me know and I can give you some recommendations. Let the sand get between your toes. Coral Pink Sand State Park is awe inspiring. Watch the rodeo. Ruby's has a fun little rodeo. This is just the beginning. You will find so many fun things to do in this area, so come stay with us and most importantly find a little time to just relax.
