Aloha and welcome to our home on the Big Island; a place of wonder, diversity, friendship and beauty. As our guests, please relax and enjoy everything that our home, Kailua and Hawai'i have to offer. We have tried to provide you with everything we can to make your stay comfortable. In the kitchen you will find a coffee maker, coffee grinder; iced tea maker, blender and plenty of pots, pans and bowls. There is a full-sized washer and dryer with soap provided. The unit features a wrap-around lanai with a view of the ocean – perfect for a morning meal or a relaxing evening. We want you to feel at home and make this space yours while you are here. There is secure designated underground parking (for a midsize or compact car only) and an elevator for easy access to the unit.
The Big Island has many things to offer. In Kailua we like to watch the sunset from one of the restaurants along Ali'i Drive, a short stroll from the condo. As you stroll down Ali'i you will find several restaurants where you can listen to authentic Hawaiian music – or on weekends perhaps get out on the dance floor to something a bit more energetic. For those who like cold beer you can't miss a stop at either Kona or Ola Brew Pubs. Several nights during the week, you can enjoy a luau at the Royal Kona Resort or take the Body Glove Historic Dinner Cruise. On the hill above town, you'll find the village of Holualoa where you can visit one of the many coffee farms and tours. For those interested in experiencing something amazing, try the Manta Ray snorkel trip.
While Kailua-Kona has much to offer, definitely hop in your car and explore the island. Before you go, check the winds and the weather. Because Hawai'i is blessed with two mountains over 13,700 feet tall, one side will almost always be dry while the other may be quite wet. When wandering, we like the Green Sand Beach off the South Point, Paradise Meadows on South Point Road (with delicious Kau coffee, many flavors of macadamia nuts, cookies and honey), exploring Volcanoes National Park (stop off at Volcano Winery on Pi'i Mauna Drive, a mile west of the Park entrance), Saturday or Wednesday Market in Hilo, the Waipio Valley, and the Pololu at the end of the road, past Hawi on the NW coast (take the 20 minute hike down to the beach). The list is endless so before you go check out the guidebooks and maps. If you have enjoyed your stay please offer a favorable review online so others may share your experience. You can also share your favorite spot with us.
The unit does have A/C but please turn it off when you leave. The charge for electricity is quite high. The unit will cool off nicely when you start the A/C again once you return from your errands or sight-seeing.
Please enjoy your time in this beautiful place and come back often.
